In 2008, Joe Beaudry was looking for ways to help him gain a competitive edge in his corporate career. Stress-relief, focus and improved memory were just a few of the items on his list. And so with a little research, he found an online community of passionate “floaters”; advocates of the benefits of floating, and how these benefits helped them with the careers and their personal lives.
Through an online forum, Joe was able to try a floating tank in the basement of an avid users home. An hour later, he knew he had stumbled upon something very special, that would not only help him personally, but something, if branded and presented to the public correctly, could start to help countless professionals in markets all across the country.
It started with a note.
Joe was focused on making Urban Float a household name, synonymous with restorative relaxation. To grow the brand he partnered with an experienced retail & wellness team, lead by Scott Swerland. Together, Joe, Scott and the leadership team bring 75+ years of retail experience to Urban Float. Scott is laser focused on real estate strategy as a bedrock of the business. Steeped in a brand-building approach that puts consumer needs first, the Urban Float leadership team is expanding the business across the country.

Mr. Swerland has been our Manager since our formation in March 2014. He has also been the CEO of SST Group LLC, the owner of over 80 “Seattle Sun Tan” & “Desert Sun” salons operating with both a corporate & franchise model since January 2004.

Mr. Beaudry has been the Chief Operating Officer of Float Holdings, LLC since its formation. Since December 2007 he has been Manager of New Technology for Verizon Wireless based in Bellevue, Washington.

Gabe is an integrated, data-driven, marketer specializing in brand launches, expansion & repositioning for growth. He has driven marketing strategy for multi-national portfolio businesses, global philanthropy, and local brands.

Leo supports our new franchisees with the logistics of building, launching, and operating their new Urban Float center. Additionally, Leo leads our pod sale division and works with professional sports teams and residential customers on their sensory deprivation needs.

Mr. Gonzalez has been a dedicated Urban Float employee for over 2 years. Tomas started out in our original Fremont location as a part time Spa Associate where he quickly increased his responsibilities and took on the added challenges of store maintenance.
